It is located in a seaside vacation suburb, 3 km west of the city of Chania in Crete and only 100m away from a beach covered with wonderful fine sand.
The long beach offers a fascinating view of Chania, especially at dawn with the sun literally rising up behind the houses, as well as when dark falls and the first city lights come up over the water. The small isle of Lazareta opposite seems to set a natural limit in the horizon and far in the south there stands out the image of the White Mountains (Lefka Ori) renowned for the famous Samaria Gorge.
The beach is quiet, with shallow sea, therefore safe for children's play and swim, as well as for the elderly. Well organized, with sunbeds, small canteens selling snacks and beverages, opportunities for some leisure activities (available mainly during July and August), such as sea cycling, canoeing, beach volley. Lifeguard service is also provided (certain hours daily).
